Accounts Payable Technician
Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for an Accounts Payable Technician for the department of Financial Services.
Duties include, but are not limited to: receiving and coordinating accounts payable documentation, including payment requests to vendors and reimbursements for travel and other expenses; collecting, securing approvals and screening expenditure payment requests for account accuracy, evidence of receipt of goods or services and authorization; protecting University resources and monitoring for fraud and abuse; ensuring appropriate sales and use taxes are applied; performing daily routine checks on problem situations and contacting vendors or departments if needed for problem resolution; serving as back-up for the University’s travel card program including the dissemination of program information to various departments and cardholders, program expansion, training and compliance monitoring with University policies, and protecting University resources and monitoring for fraud and abuse; analyzing Travel Card charges in the Works System; making sure that the allocations match the Travel Authorizations and reviewing receipts attached for the validity of the charge; performing petty cash audits throughout the year and reconciling differences; keeping supervisor updated as to the status of the assigned work and any irregularities or problems; and performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements: An associate's degree in accounting or related field is required. Three (3) years of clerical accounting/bookkeeping experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience is also required. Prior Ellucian Colleague and Perceptive Content experience is preferred.
