Instructor (LIFE Program)
The Coastal Carolina University LIFE program seeks a dynamic individual for the position of LIFE Instructor, reporting to the Director of the LIFE Program. The Instructor will be responsible for providing instruction and support of students participating in the Coastal Carolina University LIFE Program.
Duties include, but are not limited to: develop lesson plans; provide classroom instruction and experiential learning opportunities for students in the Coastal Carolina LIFE Program; provide 1:1 support for a cohort of students to include: developing individualized, person-centered, 4-year college plan, individualized supports, and academic advising; assist with student skills assessment and writing progress reports; collaborate with the LIFE Team, communicate effectively with tutors, LIFE residential assistants, graduate assistants, students, parents and other constituents; participate in LIFE recruitments and admissions processes; serve on campus, community, state, or national committees or organizations; provide excellent customer service to faculty, staff, mentors, community partners, business liaison, and agency partners; participate in professional development; participate/facilitate LIFE Program activities, events, fundraisers, etc.; and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements: A bachelor's degree and experience working with individuals with disabilities is required. A valid South Carolina Teaching Certificate for secondary special education is required. A master's degree in special education, social work, vocational rehabilitation or a related field and experience working with young adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in both high school and postsecondary settings is preferred.

Time Limited position with benefits. Normal work hours: Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Must be flexible to meet special scheduling needs of the University.
