Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for registration, insurance compliance, and permits for all company equipment.
  • Coordinate training for all new chauffeurs, and monitors in accordance with local, state, and federal laws, policies, and recommendations.
  • Submit paperwork to FMCSA for new chauffeur permits and licenses. Conduct training of chauffeurs and schedules trainees concerning all aspects of the CDL (P) Endorsement test and schedules CDL (P) Endorsement testing.
  • Maintain internal database with current chauffeur status, license information, and DOT compliance information.
  • Develop, execute, and update effective chauffeur safety training programs in compliance with OSHA, FMCSA, and company safety policies, including proper utilization of the ELD system (Samsara).
  • Schedule and conduct regular ride-along sessions to ensure chauffeur compliance, positive safety habits, and identify challenges/trends.
  • Develop a driver and fleet scorecard to track overall safety and compliance performance.
  • Ensure chauffeurs remain compliant with annual physicals, drug/alcohol screenings, and driver license renewals in accordance with all state, federal, and local laws.
  • Manage chauffeur’s logs to ensure timely and accurate completion, as well as compliance with Federal DOT regulations.
  • Conduct daily audits of chauffeurs to ensure compliance and productivity through a fleet management and tracking software system.
  • Administer random drug screening and expiration list processes including chauffeurs license and medical card renewal.
  • Report non-compliant drivers or incidents to Director of Fleet Operation for corrective action/discipline.
  • Investigate and track all accidents to meet both company and FMCSA/DOT requirements, including post-accident drug/alcohol testing and re-training.
  • Build and maintain Driver Qualification files.
  • Monitor CSA BASICs scores.
  • Develop and conduct regularly scheduled Chauffeur Safety Meetings.
  • Develop plans to reduce and prevent safety incidents/accidents by monitoring the use of safety/compliance technology (Samsara) and analyzing trend data based on those results.
  • Promotes a “safety focused” culture throughout the company that incorporates operations, safety, and maintenance departments.
  • Assume primary responsibility in responding to personal injury and vehicle accidents through on-scene investigation and preparing and submitting reports to the Human Resources Department in accordance with company policy.
  • Operate with strong communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and innovative thinking skills.
  • Professional, personable, and great customer service skills. Ability to converse on a professional level with clientele and vendors.
  • Work with company personnel as a team and promote a positive work environment.

Experience:

  • 5 years+ of safety experience in related transportation industry.
  • 3 years+ in a fast-paced work environment with high attention to detail and organization.
  • 2 years+ of electronic log compliance.
  • 5 years+ with FMCSA and DOT requirements.
  • Previously provided safety compliance to a local and non-local workforce or trucking fleet.
  • Experience handling resistance to process, procedures, policies and knows how to arrive at cooperation/understanding.
  • Provides leadership for safety topics by setting an example of good safety behavior, championing safety and DOT best practices, and creating/influencing a culture of safety mindful crew.
  • Participates well as a part of a team that provides exceptional logistics service to a wide variety of clients, near and far.

Schedule:

· Day-Shift: Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. full time shift schedule with after–hours support as needed.

· Weekends and overtime will be expected and required to meet customer demands during peak season.
